Kay Ridgwell

Kay is a part-time Dance Artist based in Folkestone. She is a qualified Dance and Performing Arts Teacher with 10 years’ experience, specialising in creative and contemporary dance for a variety of ages and abilities. 


Before completing her teacher training she worked as a Community Dance Artist in West Sussex, working in a variety of settings including; theatres, schools, leisure centres and sheltered living accommodation. She has taught a variety of diverse groups; children from reception right through to sixth form, over 50’s and older adults. During her freelance work she taught and choreographed for the Youth Theatre at Winchester Theatre Royal and Roots around the World. 

Her most recent work has been in secondary education planning and delivering Performing Arts within the curriculum and for those with special educational needs. She values inclusivity and the process of creativity for both self-expression and wellbeing.
