Maike is a Folkestone based Art Therapist. She studied Fine Art at Central Saint Martins and qualified as an Art Therapist from the HfBK in Dresden, Germany in 2008. She has extensive experience in a diverse field from charity work abroad to working with children on the autism spectrum, in education and adult psychiatry. Most recently Maike has been working as a PA and setting up private Art Therapy practice in Folkestone alongside her work with On Solid Ground.

Maike has an intuitive and flexible approach and is passionate about supporting her clients individually in expressing thoughts and emotions in a safe and supportive environment through the use of art materials. Participants are encouraged to develop their non-verbal expression, gain new perspectives and strategies and reconnect to positive, creative and capable parts of the self. Art therapy is accessible to anyone regardless of age, skills or cultural background and does not require previous experience.

Maike is fully registered with the Health Care Professions Council (HCPC) and the British Association of Art Therapists (BAAT).
