our approach

What makes us different

At the heart of our workshops and courses is our unique holistic methodology that combines expressive artmaking, somatic movement, guided relaxation, and reflection. This integrative approach supports emotional well-being, self-discovery, and personal growth — all within a welcoming, and non-judgmental environment.

Led by qualified professionals, including an Art Psychotherapist, a Movement Practitioner and a Community Outreach Tutor, our sessions are designed for people of all ages and backgrounds. You don’t need to have any artistic or dance experience. There’s no “right” way — only your way.

Expressive Art Making & Art Therapy

Being creative can have a profound impact on your mental and emotional well-being. In our courses we use a therapeutic approach that combines the joy of art making with the benefits of self-exploration, expression, and reflection.

In our courses, you will find a supportive, non-judgmental space to engage in stimulating, accessible art activities that help you to listen inwards and explore your thoughts and emotions, gain new perspectives and insights, and grow on a personal level.

No artistic 'skill' is required. The focus is on the creative process, not the outcome. Enjoyment, curiosity, and authenticity are what matter most.

Other benefits include:

  • Encourages creative thinking and curiosity

  • Offers a non-verbal outlet for tension and reflection

  • Relieves stress and relaxes both body and mind

  • Enhances focus, fine motor skills, neural development and concentration

  • Fosters social connection and shared experience

While our courses and workshops incorporate many elements of Art Therapy, and we work with a trained Art Psychotherapist, they are not therapy sessions. Art Therapy is a unique form of psychotherapy that uses art materials to express and process experiences, thoughts, and emotions that can be difficult to put into words. Therapy sessions always take place in a safe and confidential setting with a professional Art Psychotherapist, and may occur in groups or one-on-one. People seek Art Psychotherapy for many different reasons, including mental health challenges, trauma, depression, anxiety, eating disorders, self-harm, relationship difficulties, and bereavement.

Expressive & Somatic Movement

women and children movement and dancing

Movement is a powerful way to reconnect with your body, release stored emotions, and express yourself without words. Our sessions use somatic and expressive movement practices that gently bring awareness to bodily sensations and support emotional integration.

Whether guided or improvised, movement can unlock insights, ease tension, and enhance your physical and emotional well-being — in a joyful and therapeutic way.

Benefits of movement practices include:

  • Encourages imagination, creativity, and free expression

  • Supports emotional regulation and self-understanding

  • Builds self-confidence and connection to others

  • Improves problem-solving and communication

  • Increases focus, presence, and body awareness

  • Promotes strength, coordination, balance, and flexibility

For children, movement also supports physical development and motor skills. Group sessions foster inclusion, cultural appreciation, and community.

Relaxation & reflection

Every session is rooted in presence — with moments for stillness, mindfulness, or shared reflection to help integrate the experience. These quiet, intentional spaces allow participants to ground themselves, deepen self-awareness, and carry the benefits of the practice into their daily lives.

WHY it works

This unique blend of art therapeutic activities, movement, and reflection can be transformative. By engaging the whole self — mind, body, and creative spirit — we open up new pathways for healing, insight, and authentic self-expression.

When we include multiple senses in the process — visual, tactile, kinesthetic, emotional — we go deeper. Each of us resonates with different forms of expression: some people connect through imagery, others through movement or gesture. By offering a variety of creative modalities, we help individuals discover their own authentic voice, physical expression, and artistic language.

Expression is a vital human need. When we can express what’s within us — whether it’s joy, confusion, pain, or hope — we’re better able to cope with challenges, release emotional tension, and make sense of our experiences. This process fosters resilience, clarity, and inner strength.

Creativity doesn't just reflect who we are — it helps us become who we are.
